Androgenetic alopecia — the most common form of hair loss in both men and women — does not destroy hair follicles. It miniaturises them. Under the influence of DHT and a declining follicular growth factor environment, terminal hairs progressively transition to finer, shorter vellus hairs, and eventually the follicle falls dormant. But miniaturised follicles retain their stem cells. The problem is not absence — it is activation.
PRGF-ENDORET® (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) addresses this at the biological root. Standard PRP hair treatments inject this material at a single scalp depth. Unlike manual injection — where depth, spacing, and volume are subject to operator variability — the automated gun delivers consistent, reproducible injections at each programmed depth layer, session after session.
Three depth layers are targeted: the deep subdermal layer where the dermal papilla receives the primary growth factor stimulus; the mid-dermal perifollicular layer where vascular supply to the follicle is concentrated; and the superficial dermal layer where sebaceous gland activity and the upper follicular unit are influenced. Delivering PRGF to all three layers maximises follicular exposure to the regenerative signal.
Scalp microneedling is performed immediately after PRGF injection in the same session. I have been treating hair loss with PRP-based therapies since 2008 and with PRGF-ENDORET® since we became a BTI-approved centre in 2018.
